«I had a fantastic time in Bozika with Mike, Zeta and the kids. Not being the typical tourist, I enjoy being away from the crowded touristy areas and exposing myself to the real culture with the locals. Bozika was the perfect place in Greece to experience this! From the first time I saw the family at the train station with my name on a welcome sign and some beautiful roses, I knew instantly that I would love my experience with them.
Being able to have my own space in the basement with an ensuite was fantastic and they made me feel extremely welcome in their home. Having WiFi was a huge plus and they also let me use their computer whenever I needed.
The work on the farm was very straightforward like watering the plants and cleaning and Mike’s English is fantastic so there was never a language barrier with instructions of the work needed to be done. It was great to see the different lifestyle up in the mountain and it was a priviledge to help out.
Helping out Zeta in the kitchen was a highlight for me. She is an extraordinary woman who can cater for many people all by herself. I was happy to help by serving and cleaning up and sometimes helping to prepare the food also. Zeta’s English is also great and it wasn’t a problem communicating with her!
There was always someone interesting visiting the tavern so it was extremely entertaining! My only regret is not knowing any Greek and couldn’t join in with their interesting conversations.
I enjoyed my freedom being there, there was never a set time we were doing things and if I slept in, they would never care and only worry about me sleeping well and being happy. They even took me to the beach in Kiato one day as my day off. I felt so loved and looked after so well that I will never forget my experience there in Bozika. One day I would really love to return to the tavern and help out again.
Overall I have no negative points about my whole experience wwoofing in Bozika. I truly had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience living with a real Greek family and culture».

Mike, Zeta and the children are intelligent, interesting, hardworking and happy to share their lives with visitors. It is easy to fit in and start work as they both speak excellent English and offer kind instruction. A combination of the fresh mountain air, the fun of the work and the fact that I hardly ever saw Mike or Zeta stationary for more than a minute gave me the energy to work hard and really enjoy my time here. As a person who cares about the way we live in the world and the food that we eat, it was a real inspiration to see people commited to the philosophy that you really can live a full and creative life off the land. One memorable day the whole family worked in the farm all morning, cooked only what was growing and ripe, ate like kings, snoozed in the shade and then built a toilet.
I will return.
